Welcome to the PWHOKIES Website! We are the Prince William Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association, proudly serving the communities of Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park. The PW Hokies’ primary goals are to encourage scholarship of our community’s youth and volunteerism of the entire community. In the chapter’s first four years, fifteen scholarships have been awarded to Tech-bound graduating seniors from high schools in the chapter’s coverage area. The chapter encourages community service through its support of the Virginia Tech VT-Engage program; the Prince William Habitat for Humanity; INOVA through an annual blood drive; and the Virginia Department of Transportation's Adopt-A-Highway program. To ensure a balanced program, we also sponsor intellectual, social, and sports activities of broad interest to the community. Check out other parts of this site and our online photo album to see what our Chapter is all about.

Support for the scholarship program comes primarily from the PW Hokies' Annual Golf Classic which is held in the spring of each year. This year's tournament was held on June 3, 2011 at Virginia Oaks Golf Club in Haymarket, Virginia. The winning foursome received four invites to compete in the 2nd Annual Acura College Alumni Team Championship at Pinehurst this coming October. Click here or on the Photo Album navigation bar in the left hand navigation panel to see great pictures of the guests and the events. The chapter has raised over $30,000 in its four tournaments so far through the generous support of the  players, the corporate sponsors, and local businesses who have donated goods and services. A special thanks goes out to Land Design Consultants, LLC, Bonefish Grill, Miller Toyota, Capital Pension Services, Inc., Invite, and Acura for their continued annual sponsorships of our tournament.  Also, special thanks go to our more than 80 local businesses that contributed goods and services for our silent auction. A full listing of sponsors and contributors will be posted on our golf website. Check this site frequently to learn more about sponsorship opportunities and details about future tournaments and activities.

If you would like to suggest other activities that the PW Hokies should sponsor or if you have any comment about our program or Website, please send an email to me, Krysta Ardigo You can also complete our feedback form on the left hand navigation panel to let us know what’s on your mind! Please visit our Website often to stay abreast of what is on the horizon and to provide us with your input. If you want to be added to our email list to learn about upcoming events, just complete the signup form accessible from the left hand navigation panel. Please know that your contact information will NOT be shared outside of our chapter. Thanks again for visiting the PW Hokies’ Website! We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!

2011 Scholarhip Winners

Thanks to the huge success of our 2011 Golf Classic and the great sponsorships of Gainesville Bonefish Grill, Land Design Consultants, Capital Pension Services, Invite Me, Miller Toyota, Acura College Alumni Team Championship, and many community businesses, we raised more than $8,000 for our scholarship fund. For the 2011/2012 academic year, the PW Hokies proudly presented partial scholarships to Christopher Dorick and Kylie Gilbert from Osbourn Park High School, and Mashal Temory from Gar-Field High School. In keeping with Tech's VT-Engage program, the awardees were judged not only on their academic achievements, but also on their community service. Congratulations to this year's outstanding students and BEST WISHES for a successful first year as a Hokie! For more information on the Golf Tournament and all of our sponsors and donors, please check out our Tournament Website.
